Identity & “Who Am I Now?” Reflection Worksheets

Updated: Dec 8, 2025

Women’s Life Transitions Toolkit - Worksheets, Prompts & Guides

By Donna Burfield - Joy & Purpose Coaching

These worksheets are designed to help you explore your identity in this chapter of life, not by looking back with regret, but by looking forward with curiosity, courage and a sense of possibility.

You don’t need to reinvent yourself. You don’t need a five-year plan. You just need space to hear your own voice again.

Use these pages slowly, honestly, compassionately. There are no wrong answers, only beginnings.

1 - What Parts of Me Are Waking Up Again?

Life can quieten parts of us we once loved. This is your chance to reacquaint yourself with the woman underneath the roles.

  • What parts of me have been whispering for attention lately? (e.g., creativity, learning, adventure, rest, self-expression, boundaries)

  • What have I recently felt drawn toward, even if I haven’t acted on it yet?

  • What did I use to enjoy that I might want to revisit now?

2 - What No Longer Fits?

Identity grows not only by adding things, but by releasing what weighs you down.

  • What roles, habits or expectations feel too tight, heavy or outdated now?

  • Where in my life do I feel drained, muted or unseen?

  • What am I ready to step out of, even if gently?

3 - What Do I Want This Chapter to Feel Like?

Not goals. Not tasks. Just feeling, because identity grows from how you want to live, not what you want to achieve.

  • When I imagine the woman I’m becoming, how does she feel day-to-day? (e.g., grounded, confident, curious, playful, free, connected)

  • What environments, people or routines help create those feelings?

  • What feelings am I craving more of, and where can I find small moments of them?

4 - Who Am I Without the Roles I’ve Played?

Women often define themselves through caregiving, responsibility, and service. Here, you get to define yourself differently.

  • If I temporarily removed every role I’ve played, who is left?

  • What qualities have been mine all along, regardless of circumstance?

  • What strengths do I forget I have because they’ve felt “normal” for so long?

5 - What Do I Want to Explore Next?

Identity is shaped through exploration, small, curious steps forward.

  • What subjects, hobbies or experiences spark even a tiny bit of interest?

  • What would I try if I didn’t feel too old, too late or too unprepared?

  • What one thing could I experiment with in the next month? (a course, event, book, trip, class, conversation, project)

6 - The New Edges of Me

This worksheet is about expansion, noticing who you’re becoming.

  • Where am I growing braver?

  • Where am I becoming softer or wiser?

  • What surprises me about the woman I’m becoming?

7 - Crafting My Next Chapter Statement

This is not a commitment. It’s not a contract. It’s simply a declaration of the direction your identity is leaning toward.

Finish the sentence in a way that feels honest today:

“In this next chapter, I want to become a woman who…”

And then:

“One gentle step I can take toward that is…”

Remember…

You are not starting from nothing. You are starting from a lifetime of experience, resilience, depth and untold potential.

Take your time. Let these questions breathe. And trust that the woman you are becoming is already unfolding.
